Default Insurance Fraud
I just received a call from a collection agency from a judgment back in 1990. It was filed May 1995.

I have never received this judgment and thought this was resolved when I did probation back in 1990-1992. I moved from New Jersey in 1995.

The collection agency faxed a copy to me but the date of the final judgment is blocked out. I called the county where this was filed and they do have it on file. I'm waiting for a response back.

Also, this never showed on my credit report. I've pulled it every year for the past 10 years.

What is my recorse? What would be the statue of limitations for this?

New Jersey's statutes provide,

An action may be commenced on a judgment obtained in any other state or country within 20 years next after the date thereof or within the period in which a like action might be brought thereon in that state or country, whichever period is shorter, but not thereafter.
