Transfer title on suspended registration

It is questionable , if my daughter has her registration suspended on her car. I had posted previously about this situation. "Registration issue in Pennsylvania". Of course, she is not driving the car now. Although, several PennDot workers told her that she was okay, until last week. She thought that I could put the car in my name. But, I told her that I don't believe you can transfer a title that doe not have valid registration. ??? Her dirvers license is not suspended.

I haven't researched Pennsylvania, and you should be able to find out for yourself with a phone call or perhaps online, but typically states will permit somebody with a suspended registration to sell a car in an arm's length transaction, but will not permit a sham transaction designed to circumvent a legally imposed penalty.

Thanks for your reply. Well, that is exactly what she would be doing. She would still be driving the car, but it would be in my name. She still plans on fighting and pleading not guilty. But, I have decided to stay out of it. She will just have to wait for the outcome of this case.

An "arm's length" transaction usually precludes relatives. Of course, if your last name were different from hers, no one is going to research it.
