My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Georgia
My husband and his ex girlfriend had a child nearly four years ago in January 2006. His name was never put on the birth certificate and both of them signed their rights over to the ex girlfriend's mother, to be legal guardian. My husband has failed to be able to have time with his child without having to go see her when his parents get her, the Legal guardian refuses to give him time with his child, alone. December 27, 2006 - Febuary 1, 2006 the ex girlfriend had her daughter and then gave her back to her mother, then moved back to where she was living (four hours away). Still to this day the legal guardian won't give him visitation rights. We are looking into filling legtitimation forms and finding a lawyer to give us answers to what we need to do. The ex girlfriend now lives with her mother, the legal guardian, and still say that my husband can't get his child. Does the legal guardian have the right to keep him from his daughter?
