Default Can Somebody Fly Internationally With A Bench Warrant

    Question.

I am a U.S. citizen with no problems. Never had any.I am a 40 ish professional business man and I met a girl 2 months ago. We are dating. Im flying to Japan in 12 days on a business trip and would like to take her. She told me she has a bench warrant outstanding for "fail to appear"and "theft by deception" something over an ex boyfriend.

    Here is my question/concern..

If she takes her passport to the airport to get on the plane will this come up? If so can she be arrested at the airport for this?

Wouuld she be arrested while attempting to leave (vacation, not running, we have return tickets) or would it be more of a problem coming back?

She said it is a felony warrant for "theft by deception" something her ex boyfriend accused her of. I dont need the hassle and I dont want a girl like this im my life if its going to be problematic. I told her I would pay for an attorney to handle it but since the trip is coming up, I simply cannot accomadate her until after I/we return.

I am not asking for adive to 'evade" or help her "run away". I beleive you should do the right thing and handle your business. However time is of the essence. Her passport just came in yesterday, this is when she decided to "come clean" and tell me.

Please advise if she can fly with me or not and any info you can tell me.

NOTE: I have been looking over your posts and replys with similiar bench warrant issues. I do not know if the warrant is extraditable, I do not know the radius of it, nor do I or she knowif its in the "national database" (how would i find this out anyway?, I looked on line for ncis but you cant search it to get information on warrants.)

She does not know the county or state as they lived in several diffrent places. (shes a big help I know). Heres the reality. I would like to take her to Japan. When we return I will step up and try to help and contact an attorney. I cannot postpone my trip. pLEASE DO NOT ANSWER WITH VAUGE RESPONSES LIKE "MABYE THELL FIND OUT". tHIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FROM PROFESSIONAL PEOPLE.

Please advise me what the procedures are at the airport if she already has a ticket and she just got her renewal passport yesterday. I cannot have my trip interrupted so i need to be prepared. I know the simple answer here is leave her here and go and come back, but in Japanese business culture it is very important to show marriage/commitment (dont ask me why, i dont know. I dont like removing my shoes either but when in rome...)

Without being psychic, I don't have any way of knowing what is in the USCIS computer system, nor what they would do in any particular case if outstanding warrants were detected. Your friend should consult a lawyer about resolving her warrants such that this is no longer an issue.

I agree and as i stated i will help her when i get back. there is no time for me to do this this week. i did consult an atty and he said he could look in to it but to get it resolved before travel is going to prove quite the challenge. So, if you please...advise what do you think will happen if there is information in that computer about her warrant.

    Also, please advise the following

1: does every passenger get checked leaving/returning against the computer records you referenced?

2: if they find something, what will happen. In other words, do they care, will they arrest her, or will they say somthing like "you have this warrant, please handle your business".

Look. No one is trying to run away here. I told her (as in my question above) I will pay for an attorney when I return. I cannot put off this trip.

I understand your stock response "contact a lawyer". I have done so, but it dosent resolve the pressing time issue here.

PLEASE ADVISE ON THE SIOMPLE QUESTION. CAN SHE FLY WITH A BENCH WARRANT INTERNATIONALLY?

if it does not come up in the computer fine, ill help her when i return, if it does come up in the computer at the departure stage this would mess up my whole trip. Would someone please advise asap?!
