My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Massachusetts
American Citizen (with Mandarin language skills)
Occupation - Attorney
Unemployed since March 1, 2009
Moved to Out of state in July and registered with Interstate UI of Massachusetts.
Started a 20 week extension a few weeks ago. (Believe that I am elligible for the initial 26 (done) + 20 (started) + 13 + 20 - though I could be wrong)
Moved to Bejing, China as a base for a job search in Asia.
1) Is it possible to live outside of the U.S. and collect UI if you are conducting a job search where you are residing?
2) If not, what are my options with respect to reopening my claim at a later date? (Seeing as there are no guarantees I will find work - just as I could not find anything in the states).
Thanks
