Workplace slander

I was recently accused of useing drugs..my boss said they rec'd this from a reliable source..so I complied with a drug test..then he said I was suspended w/ pay..for what ..suspecion..wrong i informed him..then they proceded to drug search my office w/ a K-9 unit..but they didn't search the entire place or any vehicles..they only seached 1 filing cabinet out of 20 thoroughly..why?? they then recinded on the suspension..and are a waitin drug test results..I feel as if I am getting set up..they will not tell me name of source..I would like to know if there is any way to find out legally who this source is..I either would like a puplic apology or i may file a civil claim agaisnt this person..This false accusation has created alot of personal stress on me and my wife..what can I do about this if anything,,?? i feel its a personal attack within the work place but i don't know this for sure..I work for a small municipality..where gossip is the melting pot of the whole town..I can't just quit..I have a family to take care of..I'm at a lost on what I can do...I'll take ant advice..

You can consult a local lawyer to see if there is any way to get your employer to divulge the information and, if you want to keep your job, ideally without being fired.
