Sorry if this is the wrong place for them, I wasn't quite sure if this was the right place for this issue.
I was a member of a different forum, when one of the moderators' accounts on that site were hacked, now my computer public IP address covers 3 different PC's in my house, and because my IP address showed up on the hacking, they naturally assumed it was me and then banned me innocently.
Now, I know I did not do it, and I am extremely puzzled as to what happened, and then next thing I know, the administrator is calling to call in the local authorities (Internet Service Providers and Police), I know I didn't do it and I am terribly afraid that the police are going to come to my door and arrest me for something I haven't done.
I have recieved several harrasing e-mails from these people, and they say they will notify the police, now I've been considering because of this stress and harrasment, and because of my innocence, to press charges against them.
Now, can I legally take action against them for wrongly accusing me of a criminal offence and can I take action against them for continual harrasment?
I have copies of several harrasing e-mails, now if anybody is interested in seeing them then I will send them to you over private message for you to comment on them.
So, am I correct in taking legal action against them, because I am continually becoming anxious and nervous about this?
S.J. Graham
