My question involves an eviction in the state of: OR
A tenant renting a room in my 4-bedroom house was on a 1-month lease that expired early Sept. I notified him 2 weeks prior to expiration to secure a new lease with rent payment on the day of expiration.
Now 2 weeks after the expiration, still no sign of any willingness or desire to sign another lease. No money is the excuse.
I decided that he should leave and today I gave him the notice to vacate his room immediately while allowing him to sleep on the couch in the living room for two weeks so he can look for another place to live.
Do I owe this tenant anything else as far as the law is concerned?
He's threatening to have his mom and dad get me in legal trouble. I feel like I'm raising someone else's kid... Am I legally entitled to throw him out two weeks later when his time is up and he still won't leave?
Finally, I have a new tenant moving into his now vacated room later this week. Do I have any legal concerns?
Thanks for answering my questions.
