Question What is the Difference Between Guardianship and a Caregiver Authorization Affidavit

    State of WI

I was wondering what the difference is in having guardianship versus having a caregiver authorization affidavit, and also is it legal in Wisconsin?

Default Re: What is the Difference Between Guardianship and a Caregiver Authorization Affidav

A guardianship is granted by a court, and is supervised by a court. A power of attorney is granted by an individual, is not court-supervised, and to the extent it's inconsistent with the terms of the order of appointment will terminate if a guardian is appointed.
