My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: California

Hello,

I was cited for allegedly traveling 70mph on a non-divided two lane highway, with a 55mph speed limit

The officer stated that the citation was based on radar, while we was accelerating from a stop sign toward me, as I was slowing down for the stop sign.

Are there any special defenses for radar tickets while both cars are accelerating/decelerating in opposite directions?

Nothing special... Moving Radar works just as well as a Radar Unit being used while the officer is stopped. Request Discovery, get copies of the Radar Calibration certificates, a copy of the officer's notes... No speed survey is required here as the speed limit is set by the statute.
