Default Midland Funding, LLC. is Sueing Me
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Florida

Im being sued by "midland funding, llc" company for a line of credit through Citibank, the limit was $1000 they are trying to sue me for $1800. This debt is from over 6 years ago, is in my old married name, not in my real name now. When I called Citibank, they told me they sold my account to "Atlantic Credit"....So who is Midland and why are they sueing me supposedly on Citibanks behalf? How do I win this case?

You don't deny owing the money. If you owe the money, it's hard to win the case.

What does the lawsuit say? Perhaps Midland Funding, LLC, acquired the debt from "Atlantic Credit". You can challenge them too show documentation establishing that they acquired the debt and have the right to sue you.

Be sure to file a timely answer to their complaint, or you'll end up with a default judgment against you.
