Default Credit Card Debt Charge Off Date
I had a credit card charged off in 2001 or 2002. It's a little unclear as to when exactly. I recieved a judgement that said it was charged off on Dec 2005. What is the law on this sort of thing. Are they playing with the charge off date? Any ideas??[/b]

You received a judgment - as in, you were sued over the debt, lost (or were defaulted), and now a judgment has been entered against you?

Default I'm sorry They are taking me to court on this
They are taking me to court on this. The problem is that they charged off account in 2001/2002 ,but on the summons to reply before a judgement takes place they are trying to say that the card was charged off on 12/2005. I have not been sued yet for this. I think they are trying to say the card was charged off on a later date.

For the legal action, the charge-off date is irrelevant to the statute of limitations. The statute would normally start to run at the later of (1) the last date you made a charge, (2) the last date you made a payment, or (3) the due date for the bill issued subsequent to the last charge you made.
