    Default Dumb Thing to Do

    I was caught shoplifting in kohls in michigan i have a court date this is my first time will i go to jail they also found two items from macys

    Most likely not,unless the amount was pretty high.You should get a lawyer or a legal aid if you can afford one. Ask your lawyer about a diversion program.

    First time offenders dont go to jail. Expect a hefty fine though. Keep us informed on what happens in court. Shoplifting is petty theft & the courts would rather have your money then jail you.

    thanks guys iam pretty sure it wasent more than 200 do you think ill still get booked and what about my record iam 22

    and whats a diversion program??

    Some courts offer a diversion program,if you stay out of trouble for a certain amt of time,maybe take a class on shoplifting,it would dismiss the case ,
