Default Front Plate Ticket in California but Car Registered in Ga

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: CA

    I need help!
Ok I live in GA but I spend a lot of time in CA never more than 30 days at a time and sometimes I take my car out there that is registered in GA and has a GA back license plate, anyway I was in LA in early Aug and after being there for a week had to fly home for an emergency so I left my car with my boyfriend who lives in LA and has a LA DL so one night while he is driving my car he gets pulled over and given a ticket for not having a front license plate and he's on the phone talking to me and I can hear him telling the officer that it's my car and my resident is in GA but he got the ticket anyway. So he can't fix it because the car is back in GA with me where I don't need a front plate but I don't want him to get any points on his DL, so should I fly to LA and explain this to the judge?

Equipment violation, and while they are in fact reported on the driver's record, they carry zero points in California.

This should have no effect on his insurance premium.

If he or I go to court on this with proof showing that my car is registered in Georgia couldn't we get this dismissed?

Only worried about the point and it being on his record because he has a CDL

What I would do it to take a copy of your registration, along with a copy of O.C.G.A. § 40-2-41, which states:

    Quote Quoting O.C.G.A. § 40-2-41
§ 40-2-41. Display of license plates

Unless otherwise permitted under this chapter, every vehicle required to be registered under this chapter, which is in use upon the highways, shall at all times display the license plate issued to the owner for such vehicle, and the plate shall be fastened to the rear of the vehicle in a position so as not to swing and shall be at all times plainly visible. No person shall display on the rear of a motor vehicle any temporary or permanent plate or tag not issued by the State of Georgia which is intended to resemble a license plate which is issued by the State of Georgia. The commissioner is authorized to adopt rules and regulations so as to permit the display of a license plate on the front of certain vehicles. It shall be the duty of the operator of any vehicle to keep the license plate legible at all times. No license plate shall be covered with any material unless the material is colorless and transparent. No apparatus that obstructs or hinders the clear display and legibility of a license plate shall be attached to the rear of any motor vehicle required to be registered in the state. Any person who violates any provision of this Code section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

Then I'd ask the judge how I can be expected to have a front plate when GA doesn't even issue them?

    Good luck,
    Barry
Where am I going? And why am I in this handbasket?
