Civil Demand

I read in one of the other threads about civil demand Pandora said if you pay the civil demand you may get a lesser charge. So, what is a civil demand and how do I pay for it? I shoplifted at k-mart which I explained in a previous thread a while back and am trying to do everything I can to maybe get a lesser charge as I am currently in nursing school and don't want to be kicked out or unable to get my license. Thanks

You don't get a lesser charge. I think you misread.

Paying the civil demand immediately does look good in court. Also, if you don't pay it, the amount can go up, you can get sued, and it can affect your credit history.

I do not think I got a civil demand. Does it come by mail? If so I should have recieved it by now right? Its been a little less than a month.

It would come by mail, yes.

Time line depends on a few things: How busy the backlog is for the store, number of shoplifters vs number of Corporate Lawyers.
