My question involves child support in the State of: Michigan
Quick background on my situation before I throw some questions out: A portion of my monthly child support is used to supplement health insurance for my child. When we got divorced several years ago, coverage was provided by my ex since mine wasn't the greatest at the time. She has since remarried and her husband is now the primary on a new policy that covers my child, his child from a previous relationship, and another child they have together. My current coverage through my new employer is better than that of my ex's husband.
Why am I subsidising a policy that is (A) inferior to mine and (B) non-existant? Is my ex required to report said change in coverage to the FOC? Since my support dollars going towards a policy that was terminated months ago, am I being defrauded of money?
