    Default Third Unemployment Extension Denied

Hi I'm going to try to keep this as short as possible. This is my first time on here and I needed some help.

First I received my regular claim in 2007 which was exhausted in August of 2007. I had made 36K that year and my best quarter in 2006 allowed me about 1500 a month or 375 a week.

It took me awhile to get a job. I was self employed for awhile. In 2008 I found a part time job and about a month later since I was partially unemployed I got onto the first extension. Later I lose my job due to transportaion problems. (100+ mile commutes) I finish out my first extension January and was sent claim forms to open up a claim for the summer that I worked part time.

I moved to michigan before I finished my 1st extension. I opened the next claim and received 50 dollars a week until June. After that claim ended my 2nd extension resumed.(I ended up being homeless in california living in my car. I moved back April 30th) June to Aug was my 2nd extension which was based off of 1st extension. I enrolled into college and am receiving financial aid (Pell Grant).

3rd extension comes around and I am denied. Simply based on my most previous claim (Which had nothing to do with my 1st or 2nd extension.) was denied based on the fact that I made 50 dollars a week. (Small claim). I sent appeal and called unemployment and they told me that they have to go by my most recent claim. Haven't heard anything from appeal yet.

I was starting to get back on my feet. They found a loop hole to deny me my 3rd extension based on the fact that I was partially employed during my 1st extension.

Has this happened to anyone else. I've searched and it seems I'm the only one this has happened to. Was anyone else denied their 3rd extension because they were partially employed during a previous extension.

The unemployment lady told me to thank Arnold for the loop hole they used in which to deny me.

Here is a link to the bill for those that may be able to interpret law. They found a loop hole to count me out but can anyone see if there is a loop hole to count me in or am I screwed?

Thanks in advance to anyone and if I need to make anything else more clear let me know as I am in a hurry to write this. Gotta go and thanks.

Default Re: 3rd Unemployment Extension Denied

The short version of that is what? Can you make the state ignore your most recent unemployment claim, and qualify for an extension based upon a claim made a couple of years earlier?
