    Default Legalities in University Donations

My question involves business law in the state of: TEXAS

Not sure which forum to place this question. My client has a lien on the assets of a major corporation but do not think he will ever see a cent from this corporation. He asked if it was possible to donate half of the value of the lien to a local university in exchange for the university giving him a check for the rest. Is this legal?

Why would the university have even a slight interest in taking him up on such an offer?
