I was recently Pulled over for going 76mph on a road with a 45mph speed limit. That is classified as 30+mph over, and the police officer explained to me this makes it a criminal offense, it is quote "Out of my hands" - Officer, and "Up to the judge". I've also come to learn that this is a mandatory court appearance, and I can not attend Traffic school to drop the points. I plan on hiring a good lawyer, but I really know very little of the ever-so-confusing Traffic Ticket court system. I constantly hear of everyone "getting off" on their tickets, either because of some kind of discrepancy in the ticket, an improper action by the police officer at the time, or (most common) the officer not showing up to court. The way the officer described it I am under the impression that he is not a part of the situation any more, and I took it that he does not need to show up to court for this ticket. Basically after reading up on the subject for hours (on the internet) how exactly would/could (if he/she even can) my lawyer beat this ticket, and get the points dropped?
Thank you
