SF 86 Security Clearance, With an Arrest History

hello, I hope someone can provide guidance.

I'm planning to submit an SF 86 for CG Security Clearance.
Question 22 (Police Record) asks : respond for the timeframe of the last 7 years (if an SSBI go back 10 years).

I have, but that was many years ago...I was arrested twice for misdeamenor pot 1977ish and DWI ~1973. My 'ol man bailed me out & paid my fines and I never had to appear in court. (well his court, and that hurt).

Last week a cop ticketed me (my scooter) for loud exhaust (bs) and as he was checking me on his computer he mentioned it looked like I was arrested (couldn't say when or where) & he recommeded I get an expungment.

I requested a local attorney to perform a background search and they couldn't find anything (on me). Then I registered, paid & searched on Texas Dept Public Safety Crime Records database which showed 'No Records"

Ok, on the SF 86, I plan to check "no", because it was alot greater than 7 - 10 years. Should I not sweat anything... and not state anything else?
Also, why did the cop see "something" that attorneys & the TDPS didn't?

When your investigator talks to you, bring up the arrest. It's better to let them know about it than for you to say nothing and then they find it on their own. It was 30+ years ago, I wouldn't worry. But do tell your investigator about it.

Please note I'm not clear if I'll get an opportunity to talk with an investigator. I will indeed mention this if I do.

The question specically asks 7 (to 10) years, therefore I can truthfully input "no".

In addition, I believe the cop who mentioned my fingerprints are on "FBI file" is due to securing necessary documents for my hand gun license, as well as recently submitting fingerprints for an initial security check for CGAUX activities.

You will be interviewed by an investigator.

You can truthfully put "no" down to the question.

I wouldn't worry about having your fingerpirnts on file. MILLIONS of people have their finger prints on file for innocent reasons, like hand gun license, security checks, etc.

BTW, what is a CG Security Clearance?
