Default Need advice on workmans comp case in Oklahoma
My Step-father passed away in an accident at work, his companies attornies are telling my mom that when she goes to court for the workmans comp that it is a standard formula, So my question is
if it is a standard formula, does she still need to hire an attorney
pay him 20% of the lump sum that they offer her,or by having an
attorney w/her will she be able to get more than what they offer??

Default Workers' Compensation Formula
If the death benefits are by standard formula, which is not unusual, it should be possible to obtain those benefits without the use of an attorney.

However, your mother may wish to discuss with a lawyer the possibility that she might have a claim beyond workers' compensation, depending upon the facts and circumstances of your stepfather's death.
