Default How to Erase an Old Identity

    Hello,
I apologize if this isn't the proper forum but I had trouble categorizing this question. basically, I had legal changed my name and address. However; recently I've been recieving mail with my old name at my new address (mainly credit card offers and student loan programs). Is there any way I can eliminate this? I don't want any trace of my old name to appear in mail. I know it would be impossible to contact all these credit card companies personally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Default Multiple Names on Credit

If credit card companies are still contacting you under your prior name, there is a possibility that both names appear on your credit report (as would be expected), but that it appears from your credit history that you are still using the old name.

I don't know of an easy way to stop that from occurring - but a step in the right direction would be to get a copy of your credit report and ensure that all accounts under your former name are either closed or switched over to the new name.
