    In NY, are LL subject to NY Administrative Code Title 27?

    Yes, but you'll have to further consult your lease, as some items may be further superceded by provisions of your lease, provided those provisions does not violated the laws.

    If this question has to do with your other one about 'fire escape egress", everything in the building has to conform to all building and fire codes, which your "fire escape gate" does not. It is the duty of the landlord to correct any and all violations as soon as he or she is made aware of them.

    Thanks. This has to do with windows not locking. I am wondering if a LL must provide windows that lock.
