Default Title Loan in Default, Time to Renew Registration

My question involves an auto loan or repossession in the State of: Texas
I have a title loan on my vehicle, and it is currently in default. My registration is also going to be up soon. Can I renew it if my loan is in default, or will the registration paperwork go to the title loan company? Also, if I get pulled over, who's name will show up when the police run the plates, still mine?

Default Re: Title Loan in Default, Time to Renew Registration

In a normal title loan, they hold your title but don't convey it. If, however, they register the vehicle as the owners pursuant to the contract, your execution of the title to them, and your default, then they become the owners. We have no way of knowing what you agreed for them to do, or what they have done. Check with the DMV to see if title remains in your name.
