My girlfriend wants to be emancipated

My girlfriend wants to be emancipated. Currently, she's 15 and I'm 18. I'm in the Marines, and would be able to support both of us. Of course she would finish school and get a part time job of her own. She lives in Texas. I know 17 is the preferred age, but is there any way she could at 16? If not, what are the requirements to get it done at 17? I read some of the other posts, but some of those legal "terms" were kind of confusing. Can any of you help me out?

She could petition for emancipation at 16 if she is living independently of her parents (that is, her "parents, managing conserator, or guardian").
