My question involves criminal law for the state of: California and Washington.
I am an 18-year old living in California, and I was cited with an MIP a few months back. When I went to court, I was sent to a diversion program, (ADS) which has been going fine thus far. Because I was going to Washington before my program was going to end, I was going to be allowed to send my last months payment for the program from Washington. However, it turns out that I need to go to Washington for college and work right now, due to sports for college and a job opportunity. Herein lies the problem.
Will I be able to do community service or AA meetings in Washington that can be used for my program in California, or will the program have to be abandoned, and will I have to go back to court. If that happens, is there any way I could get a court date in the next week, or do any possible community service in Washington, because I don't have the money to be coming back to California at all. Or, is there any way the ADS could delay a possible court date until I am back from school on a break? I leave in 10 days!!!
I need an answer quickly, and can give any more info if needed. Thank you for your time!
