I am in Louisiana. My ex had my kids for visitation and left them home alone. The police found them. He got arrested and charged with child desertion. I went to court and got temporary full custody of them. He has visitation with them every day but no overnights. Visitation is every day because it's his summer visitation according to the regular schedule. We are going back to court. What kind of custody can the judge give him after something like that? Before the incident we had shared custody. What usually happens with custody in his type of situations? Do courts look at this type of charge as something very serious or they say "oh, well, it's a one time thing, he'll never do that agian and give him the custody back?" The kids are 6 and 8
Thanks.
