Angry Can My Employer Place a Voice Recorder in My Office

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Texas

I hope this is in the right thread.

I just found a voice activated recorder under my desk in my office. I'm not sure how long the recorder has been there but it is on. I work in a small office and I'm not sure what to do about this. Can my employer legally record my conversations at work? If not, what can I do?

Lightbulb Re: Can My Employer Place a Voice Recorder in My Office

"According to this website it is legal to do so if only one person know and that one person can be the one recording the conversation.
I am not an attorney but was searching for the same answer and found this.

The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press website:

Texas Penal Code § 16.02: So long as a wire, oral or electronic communication — including the radio portion of any cordless telephone call — is not recorded for a criminal or tortious purpose, anyone who is a party to the communication, or who has the consent of a party, can lawfully record the communication and disclose its contents."
