I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation, my step-child is still in the Philippines (i am a US citizen) I want to have an idea how long does it take to petition her if I file her i-130 and if I have to file the i-130 along with the i-485??

can i file the i-130 first and wait for her to get here to adjust her status?

The stepchild is how old?

You can file the I-130 first; why not, though, file them together?

The stepchild is 10 yrs old, my wife and I got married when she was 8 yrs. old.

Due to financial issues we can't pay $355 and $1010 at the same time, so i was wondering if I can file the petition first.
