Question Former Employer Did Not Show at Appeal Hearing

Is it in my favor that my former employer did not show up to my EDD appeal hearing? WHY?

Yes - because then the EDD will make their determination based only on your side of the story. Of course - if your version of the termination does not meet unemployment requirements you will not win the appeal.

And if the employer has good cause as to why they didn't attend the hearing, it will rescheduled.
