Default Car insurance Fraud
I am aware of an Previous employee of mine that was having problems with his car and because he faced large bills to fix it he decided to put a rag in his gas tank and set the car on fire... the car was totalled and he bought a new car with the insurance money. Now, this employee left on bad terms and has begun threatening that we are "soon to lose our customer base" as he "knows alot of people" He forgets that he blurted out this story at lunch one day and knows it was not a good thing to do. I was appalled when I heard about it. What I want to know is what are the legal reprecussion of doing something like this??? Any help here would be much appreciated!

Default Burning Insured Property - Arson and Insurance Fraud
What you describe constitutes probably two different felonies, one for the burning of the car and another for making a false insurance claim. Of course it would be up to a prosecutor to decide what charges, if any, to pursue. You can decide whether or not you wish to file a police report describing what you heard.
