My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: California-Highway 299.
Hi everyone,
I got speeding ticket for driving 55+ in an area with 55 limit. In the ticket it has been written clocked 73 MPH, speed Approx:70.
I was driving north of highway 299 and the police was clocked me from this coordinate (he parked the car here): 40°40'13.52"N 122°48'57.19"W
Some info: There was about .81 Miles of straight road from the curve (40°39'44.57"N 122°48'10.64"W) which about quarter of this the road had 2 lanes (but he probably got me in the 1 lane area). You can copy and paste the coordinates in http://maps.google.com/maps to see the area.
Today when I read the ticket it says "without admitting guilty, I promise to appear at the time and place indicate below", but I can not go to the court because it is very far from my town (more than 3 hours drive).
I am a very cautious driver and the reason I broke the speed limit was I trusted the cruise control on my car but know I learned if there is a down hill, it doesn't work and the speed increases gradually and because I used cruise control I didn't check the odometer.
This is my first ticket and I really appreciate your help if you could let me know what should I do? Is there any possibility that I can write to the court and win (in my situation) without going to court?
Thank you very much in advance,
Sam
