My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: CA
Myself and more than a few other roommates moved into a house. We all passed around a lease through email to sign and send back to the property management company.
For some reason the lease the management company has doesnt have my signature on it because it says "other tenant to be named later" which is me. Later the property manager added my name to it but I still never signed it.
I moved out two months early and stopped paying rent, now the company is threatening to send me to collections.
They never got my social security number or ran a credit check at all. Also, my signature is not on the lease.
Can they do anything at all?
Should I send an email back to the company simply asking for them to send me the lease (which they never gave us a copy of) to verify my signature isn't on it?
should i email them back simply asking for them to send me a copy of the lease (which they never gave to us) to verify that my signature is not on it?
