Challenging Paternity

My question involves paternity law for the State of: New York

How can can a child's paternity be in dispute if the child was born during a a marriage? My wife had a brief affair around the time of the baby's conception and we are not certain how long the issue of paternity will be around. Is there a point in future where the other guy can not challenge for paternity?

So you're stating that you're certain that you're not the child's biological father? You've reconciled with your wife? The baby is how old? Your wife and/or child have what ongoing relationship, if any, with the biological father?

I don't know with a 100% certainty if I am the father. There is a very good chance I am but a chance I am not. I have reconciled with my wife and we will raise the baby as our own. I am just curious how long I need to worry about the other guy walking into our life.

There is no relationship with the other guy but he knows about the pregnancy.
