    Default 2 Parking Tickets-Same Spot

My question involves a traffic citation from the state of: California

I parked my car the night of the July 3rd on a busy street by my house. I continued to check on my car throughout the day on the 4th-due to heavy traffic and drunk idiots ( live on the beach in San Diego). I didn't move it due to it being the 4th of July and having absolutely NO parking. I then went out to my car the morning of the 5th at 9am to get some things and to check on it.
This morning when I went to it to go to work I had 2 parking tickets! Both for 290 dollars and the same offense!

I had no idea I wasn't allowed to park where I did.. and one ticket was for the 4th at noon and the other was the 5th at 10am. I went to my car at least 5 times between 11pm on the 3rd and 9 am on the 5th. There WAS NOT a ticket on it anywhere. Had there been a ticket- especially for 300 dollars! I would have moved my car...

Is there anything I can do to fight this? Is there any law stating the amount of time someone has to wait before getting another ticket? Paying 600 dollars for the same fine is ridiculous! Especially when the ticket was not issued on the 4th as stated!

What statute were you cited for?
I am right 97% of the time... Who cares about the other 4%!

    1. "Being the 4th of July and having absolutely NO parking" = this is not a legal excuse sorry.
    2. Why was each citation $300? Did you park in the red or a handicap zone?
    3. There is no law against citing twice.

the success of your defense would hinge upon the answer to #2.
