Default Civil Summons in Another County
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Tennessee

Recieved a summons to appear for credit card debt. The hope is to get the case dismissed due to lack of juristiction. We live in one county but were summoned to appear in next door county. Is it sufficient defence to go to court with our tax records showing we do not live in that county. The reason for the confusion is our rural zip code stretches into two counties.

You used to live in the other county?

The most you're likely to achieve is get a change of venue from one county to the other; you're not going to make the underlying claim go away. So there's also the question, if it's no real impediment to defend against the suit in the neighboring county, is it worth trying to change venue?
