Graduated Licenses

My question involves police conduct in the State of: Michigan

Hello,

Earlier tonight I was stopped by a Macomb County Sheriff's Deputy..
Actually let me make this more clear,


I Was driving down a main road. My friend's power was out at his house, and he was using my power inverter to charge his phone on my car.. So we went for a quick cruise.. No harm done right?

Wrong..

We drove down the main road, and then decided to turn around and head back the other way.. The street we turned down ended up being a dead end, So not having nothing at all important to do.. I drove all the way down to the end, flipped around and started towards the main road again..

I come to the end of the street and theres a Sheriff's deputy illegally parked in the middle of the street making it impossible for me to go through.. He was clearly investigating something with car alarms going off in this yard.

So right there.. He wasnt on the street for me, He was investigating the field full of trucks I guess an alarm went off and someone called..

So anyway, Impossible for me to go through.. The Deputy (Already out of his car looking at something else) notices me pulling up, and puts his flashlight on me and my friend.

He approaches, I roll down the window and say whats going on?

He asks me what I'm doing I explain.. he gets me out of the car cuffs me and throws me in the back of his car. no explanation no nothing. He removes my friend from the car and puts him in next to me, the deputy then went off and investigated the yard full of trucks where there was some type of disturbance, came back and wrote me a citation for Graduated level 2 licenses, Meaning I can't be driving past Midnight. And for no proof of insurance. ( which I have now)

When asking the officer why we were stopped, his answer was WHAT DO YOU WANT TO GO TO JAIL or Something off the wall that was clearly rude and uncalled for, ego happy crazy man with a badge.


So.. Was it an Illegal stop? I mean, I made contact with the officer.. the officer wasnt looking for me.. What the hell since when is it illegal for turning down a street and comming back up it..

The main thing was, He wasn't looking for me.. He was checking out the truck yard, and then I pulled up and couldnt get by because he was illegally parked in the middle of the street. (Why he would need to park like that is beyond me as well)

So, basically, the officer was investigating a crime and stopped you because you were in the area. He asks what you were doing and you give what, true or not, could well be a lame excuse for being in the area of a crime. He then discovered that you were breaking the law by violating the terms of your license and by driving without insurance, and cited you. What do you believe the officer did wrong?
