Default Reductions Possible
Dear Sirs,

I was wondering if it was possible to get a reduction in student loan debt - medical issues in my case. There is a bankruptcy option, I won the first time around. They claimed I breached the agreement and I lost the second time (unjustifiably, I think). I believe the law says that one must prove "undue hardship." I think I proved it but that wording is subject to interpretation, much of it depending on the disposition of the judge on that particular day.
They heaped on penalties and interest to the point where it couldn't be paid back in three lifetimes.
I would like to take another shot at it, especially if the laws have changed since the last time around, this time going for a reduction rather than a bankruptcy. The bankruptcy the first time relieved me of nothing in the long run and destroyed whatever credit rating I had.

Thanks
rlee in Kansas
