    Default Sound System

Ok guys I seriously need some help...My car got impounded last night and its costing me 1700 to get it out. They impounded it for my sound system and they found less than a gram of weed laying around in my backseats that I had no clue about. I need some help with trying to fight this. Ive been arrested once before about a year and a half ago for weed and that case was dismissed on account of the officer not showing up. Here in chicago, IL they deal with 200+ cases on a daily basis and alot of the cases gets dismissed if they are small misdemanor charges. When I went to court that day it took them 65 people to get my case and out of the 65...63 was dismissed. I have another court date on Aug 7 for this weed charge and Im pretty sure this one is going to get dismissed also seeing as it wasnt even as bad as my first time and the officer said he wasnt going to show up. Now if this case gets dismissed what grounds do I have to go to court for getting my car impounded on the sound system violation and cannabis violation. I was initially pulled over for my sound system even though it was not up loud but the cop was sitting right on the corner of the block behind a car and I did not see him and pulled up right next to him and it was to late. He did not have a meter to show me how loud my system was he only went off of ear. I denied everything about having my sound system up loud and the weed so I need to know what I can do here???

    Please help

A dismissal this time around may not be so easy to come by ~ you have a record now. You should seek the services of an attorney.

Well I know of more than one person that have gotten arrested 5+ times for the same thing and all there cases got dropped so I think I still have a good chance of getting this one dismissed.

If you already know the answer, why did you waste our time here with your long ramble?

Because what I am asking is how should I go about trying to get my money back for my impound...if the weed charge should most likely get dismissed how should I fight the violation on the impound as well as how do I go about fighting the sound system charge...The guy never showed me a meter and he only judged it my ear...

If it's a legal impound, expect to pay the impound and storage fees even if you luck into a dismissal of the criminal charge.

Yea I know Im going to have to pay it but here in chicago we can go to court to challenge if it was a rightful impound...I was thinking that maybe there was a way if the charge got thrown out to go to court and be able to prove that the search wasnt warranted. The sounds wasnt justified because there was no meter and there was no way to tell if that sound was coming from another car, I did not have my sounds up and I never admitted to having them up. Honestly I think he tried to use that as a excuse because he didnt pull me over for 5 blocks after he found his way to behind my car. When he pulled me over he saw my radio and stated my sounds was up to loud.
