My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: CA

I was laid off 35 months ago. Somehow at that time I did not know about unemployment benefits in CA and did not apply for it. Prior to that I had been working for 8 years. After I was laid off I decided to take a break and did not look for opportunities actively. Now for the past 3 months I looking for opportunities to be able to re-enter workforce. I just came to know about unemployment benefits through a friend of mine who recently got laid off. I was wondering if I am eligible for unemployment benefits in the state of CA.
