I work for a large retail company. Several weeks ago, I witnessed an incident of theft by another employee. I followed company procedure and turned the guy in. Our HR came out to our location, wrote up a report and left it in the hands of the store manager. The manager left the report in plain view for anyone to see. Was it on purpose or a slip up? At this point I don't care. The problem is this.. The report named me as the whistle blower. All of my co-workers saw this report and now I am being treated like a turn-coat. It is very uncomfortable for me at work. Do I just find another job or can my employer be held responsible?
