Default How to Properly Respond to Subpoena and Seek Change of Venue
Hi,
I was served a subpoena in the state of Michigan saying I am being sued by a law firm/CA on behalf of a credit card company. It says I have 21 days to respond. There are no other instructions on it. Who exactly am I supposed to respond to? A clerk at the court listed on the papers? Send them something in writing saying what? Also, how can I request a change of venue at the same time, to a closer court? The court listed in the subpoena is hundreds of miles away and would be a hardship to attend.

Thanks for providing this great service!

bye,
BB

Send your response to the court, and tell the court that the CA sued you in the wrong court.

O-kay.... I respond to the court, thanks. I still don't know what I'm supposed to send them in writing. "Hi, I'm not guilty. bye". I did a forum search and this question has been asked before and the response is "follow the response instructions listed on the forms". I was given one-sided photocopies with NO instructions of any kind on how to respond.
