Default Objection to Creditor's Use of an Outside Collection Agency
I remember reading somewhere that a debtor can object to the use of an outside collection company by a creditor.

Is there a law regarding this or was I just dreaming? I remember the article warning that this would put the creditor in a position to start litigation a lot sooner but a debtor has a right to be challenged by the original advisory.

Ring a bell with anyone?

Sure you have a right to object, and the original creditor has the right to ignore your objection.

Your questions were answered. What else do you want? Just because you don't like the answer does not make it any less valid. Since you seem incapable of understanding simple answers, let me spoon feed you:

IF A DEBTOR REFUSES TO DEAL WITH A CA, THE CREDITOR IS NOT IN ANY WAY OBLIGATED TO DEAL WITH A CONSUMER. The creditor is free to send it to a CA, and if you still refuse to pay, they can still put it on your credit, sue, or do any other collection activity. The only thing you can do is send a letter telling the CA that you do not want to pay, or that you no longer want the CA to contact you.

In that case, the CA will simply send the account to another CA, and the process starts all over again. Such a letter does not prevent the CA from placing a collection on your file, nor does it prevent the CA from suing you.
