    Default Umbrella Insurance Policy Coverage

My daughter and her family were injured in a accident when on holiday from the UK in Florida nearly a year ago

The at fault driver was cited for careless driving (driving too fast round a bend in heavy rain crossed centre line and smashed head first into 7 seater rental vehicle
At fault drivers BIL cover is $50K per person 100K per accident

Theres an Umbrella policy too how does this feature in a claim ?

Daughter medical bills plus loss of earnings already approaching 50K and so far lawyers reluctant to help as not enough to cover their fees

Insurance adjuster is being **********************in the extreme and with the crazy Florida law etc will not pay anything till daughter is well or doctors say theres no more they can do

    Need help please

Umbrella coverage usually applies to liabilities which are beyond the policy limits of other insurance coverage, or which are not otherwise covered by insurance. The type of liabilities any particular umbrella policy would cover will depend upon the terms of that policy.

The Insurance Co were asked to provide details of insurance policies of the at fault driver but only supplied the car one and just the number of the umbrella one

Can we demand the umbrella coverage one ? or does that need a lawyer which we do not have and cant get

The Insurance Co are even refusing to consider the cost of an $8 phone card for daughter to call her travel insurers in the UK saying the card could have been used for anything .......a friend in the USA phoned Sprint and they said we need a lawyer to get a supeona to force them to issue the numbers called on the card
