Default Hit While Turning Into a Gas Station

My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: North Carolina.

The light was green on both sides. I was driving the blue car. I was turning left and then pulling into a gas station. The red car was turning right and hit my car from the rear passenger side while I was finishing entering the gas station (see picture below).

Could anyone tell me who is at fault?

    Thank you,

It is difficult to determine who's at fault because of the yellow lines that Google maps added to the picture.

If you still want a guess, I would say that you either failed to yield to the Nissan or you cut your path way too short (based on the path you took as indicated by the dashed blue lines you drew) just so you can make the turn before he got too close (which to me is a Failure to Yield The Right Of Way). If it were me, (and assuming top is north) I would have followed the yellow line coming from the east side of the intersection, paused next to the "2171" number as I checked for cross traffic and made my turn accordingly.

But that is just my own opinion and only based on the information you provided so far. You should provide more details such as whether you signaled the left turn, how far was the Nissan as you made the left turn, whether you signaled the right turn into the gas station... etc. Just looking at the picture is not enough.

    More details are needed.

My opinion: Blue car at fault.

The blue car should have turned into the leftmost northbound lane, and the red car should have turned into the rightmost lane. Then the blue car should make a lane change to the right, then ultimately turn into the gas station. If this cannot be completed in the available space then the blue car should have found another way to get to the gas station.

The blue car did one of four things:
    A) Turned left into the rightmost lane.
    OR
    B) Turned right into the gas station from the leftmost lane.
    OR
    C) Drove diagonally across the intersection.
    OR
    D) In a situation where ROW was unclear, blue car failed to yield to the car on the right (red car)
    All 4 are illegal.

What do you think the red car did wrong? If all it did was make a right turn on green into the rightmost lane, then what laws did they break?
