Why Does Mortgage Company to Long to Foreclose

I live in CA.

Surrenderd our home in BK 7, still waiting for them to foreclose, why is it taking so long, its been 9 months i want to be free of this house once and for all we left it 1 month ago. and i am still paying on the house insurance can not afford to pay on house insurance that i don't live in, any idea's would appreciate it.

The only way you're going to get an answer to that is from the lender; it may be that they're completely overwhelmed with foreclosures.
