Neighbor Harassment

My question involves defamation in the state of: Kentucky

I have a neighbor that lives across the street from me. Almost everyday when I am outside, he yells things across the street at myself and my other 3 neighbors. The words he yells are things such as "queer, fag, white trash" and so on. We keep calling the police, but they do nothing about it except go and talk to the guy. Can I go press charges or get a protective order against this guy?

What kind of charges do you expect to be able to press? It's not a crime to be an obnoxious jerk on your own property.

Restraining order? Are you in danger? Can you convince the court you are fearful for your own safety?

Everyone has at least one obnoxious neighbor. Give him a big smile and a cheerful wave, then go on about your business and pretend he isn't there.
