    Default Handicap Parking Ticket

    Hi folks,

This is what happened... I drove up to the handicap parking just to drop off a movie at a local Blockbuster and right when I got in the cop came up to me and told me to stay there while he give me a ticket. I whole heartedly just wanted to drop it off and leave but the guy told me he wasn't there to witness how long I was there. Even though his car was parked there way before I pulled up. In addition, the ticket I received was for a whopping $350 bucks!!! I also notice that he wrote down my car was a 2 door but I have an SUV with a 4 door. That wasn't all, he wrote on the ticket that the vehicle was unattended but my gf was in the car the whole time... I understand I have to request for a administrative review of some sort to contest... my question is... Do I have a case? and how should I approach this to dismiss the ticket in writting (which is required to initiate a administrative review). My proof for my gf being in the car is because the ticket was given to me on Valentines Day!!! I was dropping off a movie before we go out and celebrate Valentines Day. THank you in advance for your help!!

You were in a handicapped parking space, not a loading or drop off zone. You can contest the ticket and they might lower the fine or the officer may not show. Otherwise sounds like you are stuck.

I used to cath a lot of violators at the video stores ... for some reason too many people think it is okay to park there long enough to drop something off.

Sorry, but your argument is not a defense. Be prepared to pay the fine.

So much for the false claim that handcipapped people make that they want to be treated just like everyone else.

Yeah ... what the heck ... let's have the infirm hobble across the parking lot in the interest of "fairness".
