Default Paternal Rights for a Teen Pregnancy
My question involves paternity law for the State of: TN
father is 18, mother 17 both live at home. Her parents forbid contact with boyfriend. Birth parents want to raise baby together. Boyfriend wants to be responsible. What rights does he have after birth for custody. Her parents are sabotaging the relationship so hopefully they will break up and he will split. But he is committed to being involved. They do not plan to marry at this time. Baby due in Dec 09, she will be 18 in Jan 2010. Her father is bordering on emotional abuse but she is scared to speak up for fear of being kicked out of the house. She refused abortion so this is her dad's next idea. Please advise

As soon as the baby is born, the father should file in court for a custody, visitation and CS order.

Since the mother will be 18 just a few weeks after birth, her and BF can just wait out those few weeks if they wish.
