Default Children As "Issue of Marriage"
This is in Ohio, if that's relevant

I'm sure this is a pretty fine hair and I'm asking more out of curiosity than anything. If a woman is pregnant when she marries a man, is that child "issue of the marriage"? Or is that specific to subsequent children?

Again, just wondering. In this particular case, there's no question of paternity - just a question of not wanting to concur to anything an answer to a divorce complaint that isn't legally correct.

Thanks both for this and all of the great owrk(?) you guys do. I crawl these threads a lot when I have questions and people don't thank you for taking the time nearly enough.

Yup. The man she is married to when the child is born is presumed to be the father, and is the legal father whether he is the biological father or not.

If there's no question of paternity, it ought not be an issue.

owrk(?)
I read this out loud, and it made me laugh. I find myself now craving tuna.

(Thanks for the nice compliment. We usually only get yelled at, because we tell people things they don't want to hear.)
